Abstract
This paper investigates the impacts of distance to school and other factors on residential housing prices in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, US. To better address the effect of potential outlier problems, we employ quantile regression techniques. Our estimation results show that distance to all three school levels including elementary, middle and high schools has a significant impact on house values: the closer a house is to schools, the higher price a house will have. In addition, we find that distance to elementary schools and distance to middle schools play a more important role than distance to high schools in affecting housing price.
