Abstract
The article talks about the travels of enslaved people in and around Arkansas. Topics discussed include slave owners causing displacement of slave populations by forced migration, slaves sometimes traveling to obtain freedom, and the slave movement history in the region displaying the tension between whites wanting to create a slave society and the slaves' attempts to resist their authority.
