Abstract

This paper describes a computer simulation model to predict the performance of an ice generation and storage system using a direct-contact evaporator and compares the results with a conventional ice-on-tube storage system. The effects of ice thickness and outside wet-bulb temperature on the kW/ton of the refrigeration system are presented.
