What We're About

Nebo is a student-led literary journal housed at Arkansas Tech University, dedicated to publishing powerful, imaginative, and thought-provoking work from voices near and far. Published twice a year—once in the spring and again in the fall—Nebo curates a vibrant mix of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, photography, visual art, and digital art.

At its heart, Nebo is a space of discovery: a meeting place for stories and images that challenge, uplift, and expand our understanding of what it means to be human. We believe in the importance of literature and art as expressions of culture, emotion, resistance, and transformation. Each issue is shaped by a new editorial team of students who bring their own vision and voice to the process, sometimes choosing a guiding theme, and sometimes allowing the works to speak freely across genres and ideas.

We welcome submissions from creators around the world, while also proudly showcasing the talents of ATU students and alumni. Our audience is anyone who finds joy in the written word and the visual image—readers and makers who are curious, open, and passionate about the power of creative expression.
